Funny how you’d think a photographer would have millions of photos of her own child… but I find that’s not always the case! My son turned 5 nearly two months ago and I finally made time to get his 5-year session in. We waited for a great evening to come along and visited the prairie very close to our house. He’s not always the most patient when I have that camera in front of my face, but there were enough distractions like logs and fences that we did pretty well.

I’m so pumped to be a tester for photographer Michelle Kane’s new action sets! I’ve admired her work for awhile and when she put out the all-call for testers I jumped on the chance. Her action sets are very extensive and cover all the needs of any editing flow. They’re made to be used and layered with each other and are very tweakable so each person can make them his or her own.
Actions are a way to speed up the editing process. Lots of photographers develop their own workflow and then create an action to combine certain steps they do over and over again.
These actions are so great I went from that to this using only two of her dozens available. TWO!
Then layer on a tone to give it a vintagey feel…
Or maybe choose one of several black and white options.
